Quotes from the Gibbon
Here are a few snippets from today's English lesson with the gibbon. Enjoy!
"...books..."
"...rising tide of chatter"
"...reading the first two extracts"
"Don Juan"
"...quite what you expect"
"...writes up Homer twice"
"...we've read today"
"choose a section..."
"one stanza..."
"...a word for a verse"
"...or whatever..."
"...copy out..."
"...underneath the title"
"having chosen that..."
"...appeals to you"
"...get a chance"
"no talking"
"...depending upon the length"
"do this in your yellow book"
"aaaaaaaah!" (seriously)
Maybe this will give you some idea about what our English lessons are like...
In other news, the fire alarm went off today, ironically due to the fact the regular bell wasn't working all morning... Of course, after numerous fire drills, everyone was very well organised (NOT). The gibbon himself was looking particularly shifty with a large black umbrella (perhaps concealing a weapon? [omg! jfk reference!]). ...I will leave it here for today as it is time to go to registration. I will add to this at home... Anyway, the fire was a hoax and I had spent 20 minutes during lunch outside in the pouring rain for no reason. Curse you John Kennedy! (whatever involvement he had)
Lunch was 'casserole du poulet sans fourchette'. In other words, chicken casserole without a fudging fork!!!!! I don't know why the lunch staff aren't competent enough to ensure there is a plentiful supply of forks in both (yes, there were two!) trays. At least I had the intuition to pick up a spoon whilst passing the dessert counter while other people thought they would make do with just a knife! (not mentioning any names, db...)
I'm sure today will be remembered as one of the most controversial schooldays in history...
Tomorrow: The arrest and murder of Lee Harvey Gibbon (I wouldn't be surprised)
-not too much sugar @ home

Heyyy...you forgot about the quote:
"Ahem, ruhum *odd noise like he's choking on spaghetti*"
i'd prefer a few birchisms- though at least the way ray does it i think the guy might spit a lot.
you sound exactly like Dorry in What Katy Did i.e.
"Sunday. Had roast beef.
Monday. Had pudding. Was only allowed one helping."
and you can never have too much sugar!
Hey Jug, it's BURCHisms, he's not a tree!
*gasp* Mrs C has commented! Maybe the next step will be a post...
Hey i only heard the word and I never heard of a Burch before.
You do reminisce about your food an awful lot..
My Bob we're sad- chatting to each other on an (almost) randomer's blog. Is this counts as conversation these days?
Excuse me, I believe I do qualify as a "full randomer"... :-)
Anyway, thankyou for the comments, I do tend to enjoy my lunch don't I...
ray is sitting next to me now singing... pretty scary...
